The shortest day of the year started with a lovely sunrise, and ended with a view of River Landing, followed by a visit to Whoville for hot chocolate down at Ronald McDonald House, then a serenade by carolers at the front door. Finally, at 9:28 pm, we welcomed the longest night standing for a few chilly minutes on our deck as we listened to the Beatles’ Here Comes the Sun. At it always feels like Christmas is nigh when the neighbours put up their créche across the street. Hello, Spring. We see you!
